Cobbydog Food Questions

How do I introduce cold-pressed?

Start your dog’s cold-pressed journey gradually:

  • Offer Cobbydog cold-pressed as a treat at first.
  • Slowly mix it with their current food over 2 weeks until fully switched.
  • For sensitive tummies, transition more slowly over 3 weeks.

How much dog food should I give my dog?

Different Cobbydog products, cold-pressed food, extruded kibble, wet food, treats, and supplements, have different feeding guides. Always check the packaging to ensure you're feeding the right portion for your dog.

How do I serve cold-pressed dog food?

Cobbydog cold-pressed is so versatile! Serve it:

As a complete dog food

As a healthy training treat

Scatter feeding fun

Spread onto a lick mat

Crumbled on top of raw food

Can I mix cold-pressed with raw?

Yes, you can serve raw with cold-pressed dog food together because both are digested at the same rate, reducing the risk of stomach upset. Avoid mixing traditional dry kibble with raw food, as this can cause digestive issues.

Why does my dog seem thirsty?

It’s very normal for your dog to drink a little more than usual when switching to cold-pressed food. This happens because cold-pressed recipes are more concentrated and contain less moisture than raw or wet diets. If your pup seems thirstier, it’s usually just their body adjusting to the lower water content in their meals.

To help your dog adjust, always follow our feeding guidelines to ensure portion sizes are just right. Provide constant access to fresh, clean water. For sensitive dogs or puppies, try mixing a little warm water or broth into their meals to make the transition easier.

Why is my dog’s poo soft?

As dog owners, it’s pretty much impossible to ignore our dogs’ poos, especially when they’re softer or runnier than usual. Unpleasant as it may be, your dog’s poo is one of the clearest indicators of their overall health.

  • 🍗 Diet Changes – Switching food too quickly or changing protein/fat sources can upset digestion.
  • 😓 Stress & Anxiety – Moves, routine changes, or new pets can lead to softer stools.
  • 🦴 Overfeeding – Extra portions, treats, or table scraps can cause digestive issues.
  • 🌾 Food Sensitivities or Allergies – Certain ingredients may not agree with your dog.
  • 🍽️ Eating Inappropriate Foods – Human food or rich treats can trigger soft stools.
  • 🦠 Infection, Parasites, or Illness – Bugs, parasites, or disease may cause runny poo.

If you have any concerns, try keeping a poo diary (yes, really!) Track food, treats, changes, and consistency to help you and your vet identify patterns or triggers more easily.

Extruded Kibble

Traditional kibble is made using a process called extrusion. Ingredients are cooked at high temperatures under pressure. This creates that familiar crunchy texture and makes the food shelf-stable.

Cold-Pressed

Cold-pressed food is gently pressed at low temperatures, helping to retain essential nutrients, flavours, and aromas. It breaks down gradually, making it gentler on sensitive tummies.
