At Cobbydog, our love for dogs runs deep. We understand the joy and companionship they bring and that’s why we’re committed to providing them with nothing but the very best! Our mission is to enrich the lives of dogs as much as they enrich ours, through top-quality, balanced nutrition that fuels their happiness and well-being.

We know how overwhelming it can be to find the right food, especially for dogs with complex dietary needs. We work closely with industry experts, constantly evolving our recipes to stay at the forefront of pet nutrition. But no matter how much we grow, we always stay true to what’s important: providing simple, natural, and delicious food that’s minimally processed and full of goodness. Cobbydog History

Timeline

1976

We first opened our doors in 1976 in Silsden, West Yorkshire, where we remained until 1986.

1978

Stephen and Eddie attended Cobbydog’s first trade show in 1978, where they introduced our flagship food, Cobbbydog Original.

1979

We got our first branded trucks way back in 1979 - our look has definitely changed a lot since then.

1980

By 1980, we were hitting up bigger trade shows like the Pet and Aquatic Trade Show (PATS), with a growing lineup of dog food, including Cobbydog Original, Supreme and Delight.

1982

While this may look like an 80s boyband album cover, it is in fact the original Cobbydog crew coming back from their lunch break in 1982.

1984

Cobbydog’s branding has evolved a lot over the years, but this photo from 1984 shows us starting to embrace the classic green we’re known for today. (shows Ted, Mark & Richard)

1986

In 1986, we moved to a larger facility in Keighley, where we remain today.

1988

In 1988, we expanded our product offerings to include a new line of extruded dry dog food, with grain-free options like lamb & rice and chicken & rice.

2001

We launched our first website back in 2001 - it’s crazy to think how far we’ve come since then!

2004

Since 2004, we’ve proudly sponsored charitable dog shows, providing prize cards, ring numbers, and, of course, plenty of Cobbydog food!

2009

In 2009, we changed our logo and joined Facebook, where we have built a thriving Cobbydog community.

2017

We teamed up with the amazing Golden Paste Company, the brains behind TurmerAid™. This specialist blend helps dogs with everything from achy joints to tummy troubles and is used widely across many Cobbydog products.

2018

2018 marked the launch of our innovative cold-pressed line with the introduction of Optimum Chicken Cold Pressed, which is still a fan favourite to this day.

2019

In 2019, the third generation of the Horner family joined Cobbydog with Joey (grandson of founder Eddy Horner) bringing his enthusiasm to the team and Beth (grandaughter of founder Stephen Leigh) joining soon after in 2020.

2023

2023 saw the launch of our Immunity Impact range enriched with Plasma. This was developed to provide dogs with the very best support for their immune systems, joints, and overall health.

2023

2023 was a landmark year for Cobbydog, as we were honoured to receive not one but two prestigious awards at the Keighley & Airedale Business Awards: Business of the Year and Manufacturer of the Year!

2024

Cobbydog welcomed two new family members to the team in 2024: Matthew and Daisy. With three generations involved in the business, Cobbydog's future is looking bigger and brighter than ever!

We’ve been the market leader in cold-pressed dog food in the UK for over a decade, thanks to a machine Eddy built over 40 years ago! But we’re not done yet. Get ready for new flavours, new partnerships, and a whole lot more as we continue to shake up the world of pet food. The future’s looking bright for Cobbydog, and we can’t wait to share it with you and your pups. We’re excited to continue growing our amazing community of dog lovers, and with our 50th anniversary around the corner, we can’t wait to celebrate with you all!

Our team is the heart and soul of Cobbydog. We're a tight-knit bunch of 12 dedicated individuals, 8 of us being family members - some have been part of the Cobbydog journey for over 35 years!
